Taker, Triple H & Mysterio To Go Part Time

April 30, 2010

The land of Smackdown gets even broader for talents now to stand up to card. The Undertaker and Rey Mysterio has reportedly filed to take some time off from their full-time schedule. It is said that Undertaker has requested some time off to fulfill his personal investment obligation while Mysterio wants to spend more time with his family.

On the otherside, Triple H will not be participating in the first phase of the 2nd Monday Night War. The 13 time heavyweight champion will be taken off air due to his upcoming feature TV series, Killing Karma and other related promotions and possible films.

The duration for all three top talents have not been cleared. Nonetheless, management has been generally receptive of their requests as they view this clearance as an opportunity to groom new main-eventers. Insider reports however indicate that the dust has not been settled and management is pushing to call them back, especially due to the change of network for Smackdown in October and the declining ratings.

RAW is set to take on TNA

April 28, 2010

In the aftermath of this year draft, RAW is jampacked with superstars. The roster is now filled with John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, Edge, Chris Jericho, Triple H and Sheamus. All main-eventers who had held the heavyweight title before. The mid card provides interesting mix of talents such as John Morrison, R-Truth, The Miz, Ted DiBiase Jr and the Hart Dynasty. From the fans point of view, RAW is set to be explosive. The main event scene could have potential powerful lineup such as Triple H vs Edge, John Cena vs Jericho, Randy Vs Batista. However, from the wrestlers’ point of view, RAW is set to snuff out any rising talents. The main event scene is too saturated and this leaves no room for rising superstar to step up to the plate. The Miz, Morrison or Truth can kiss chasing the heavyweight title goodbye. And it’s not difficult to understand the management’s decision behind this year draft.

Over the past year, RAW’s rating has been steadily decreasing. TNA, on the otherhand has been up and coming. Their IMPACT! Zone has witnessed significant jump in viewership and is slowly penetrating into the mainstream. This has set both the management and the writers in WWE frustrating for solutions. With the draft pick on RAW this year, we can see that the roster is squeezing talented wrestlers to win over the ratings. It seems that Vince is finally taking TNA seriously. The second Monday Night War seems to have begun.

It is reported that Dave Batista’s contract with WWE is coming to end very soon. Multiple sources surfacing the Internet have indicated that Dave is weighing his direction with the company and contemplating whether to jump ship over to TNA.

Dave has been upset with the development of his character lately. He was originally considered for the lead role in “Killing Karma” but was later replaced by Triple H. Should the Animal leave his kingdom for the greener side of the field?

Smackdown Invades RAW As Smoke Fills The Air

April 21, 2010

The Iceland Volcano eruption over the past week in Europe has caused havoc in WWE’s flight schedule. The RAW team was trapped in UK, so fans at New Jersey was treated to a special edition of Smackdown superstars running the monday night show. Personally, I think WWE has handled the crisis pretty well. They groped in The Undertaker and scheduled a match with Jack Swagger. Interesting. Then, there was a 6 man tag team main event involving Jerchio, Punk, Luke Gallows vs Triple H, Rey Mysterio & Edge. Not a bad line up.

Of course, fans have missed the confrontation between The Miz & Bret “The Hitman” Hart. Well, that leaves more room for anticipation on the upcoming Smackdown tapings and this Sunday PPV – Extreme Rules.
